The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah says anybody who can talk on phone for duration of five minutes is not poor.
According to him, no poor person in this country can exceed five minutes when talking on the phone except the issue discussing is very important or serious.
Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Angel FM, Hon Simon Osei-Mensah said when government introduced talk tax, the poor in the society complained about its implementation but according to him no poor person can talk on the phone for or more than five minutes.
“We said talk tax, the poor were complaining but there is no poor person who can talk on the phone for five minutes unless the issue is serious. We know them, when they talk for few minutes then they ask you to call them back because they’re out of credit,” he said.
