A lot of Ghanaians have expressed displeasure over government’s call on Ghanaians to donate GH¢100 a month to support the construction of a National Cathedral.
Public figures such as Afia Pokuaa, Lydia Forson and Kwame A Plus have reacted and kicked against the initiative.
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, while presenting the 2021 Mid-Year review Budget Statement and Economic Policy on Thursday urged all, including Members of Parliament, to be part of the one million Ghanaians projected to support the initiative dubbed, “Ketewa biara nsua” with GH₵100 a month.
But according to political activist Kwame A Plus, government pleading with Ghanaians to donate to construct a cathedral is a misplaced priority since there are other avenues that need immediate attention.
A Plus sharing images of poor bungalows Achimota Government Hospital staff live said anyone who donates 100 cedis a month to build the cathedral is a f00l and will rot in hell because God hates stupid people.
