Young nurse stabbed to de@th by her husband in Kenya last Sunday dawn.

The suspect identified as Evans Kamau was nabbed on Tuesday, August 10 after he stabbed Esther Njigi Nyaga 17 times on Sunday, August 8.

The victim identified as Nyaga, a mother of three, was staying with her kids at Everest Estate in Juja, where the crime incident took place.

The duo, who exchanged vows in a colourful church wedding in 2010, departed ways in 2019 following frequent domestic squabbles. The couple were blessed with three kids (a daughter aged 11 and sons aged 7 and 2).

Reports indicate that the suspect entered Esther’s house from the back entrance on Sunday night and disconnected power from the main switch.

Evans then locked Esther in her bedroom where he allegedly executed the dreadful act before he ran from the crime scene.

Purity Gathoni, a neighbour, said the child knocked on their door and asked if she could assist in transporting her mother to the hospital.

Gathoni stated that when she inquired about what had occurred, the girl revealed that her father had allegedly stabbed their mother.

“We discovered her in her bedroom, face down in a pool of blood. Esther told the ambulance driver that her estranged husband, Evans Kamau, had stabbed her multiple times.” Gathoni explained.
