Wontumi told me Akufo-Addo masterminded my disqualification – Odike

Akwasi Addai Odike, the Presidential Candidate of the United Front Party (UFP), has revealed that presidential candidate of ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo masterminded his disqualification by the Electoral Commission (EC) ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Mr Odike who has been rejected three-times in the presidential race speaking on Kumasi-based Pure FM said that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Bernard Antwi Bosiako widely known as Chairman Wontumi disclosed to him during a ‘business meeting’ that President Akufo-Addo does not want him to contest for the presidential seat and in a scheme ensured that he’s being disqualified.

“Nana Addo supervised my disqualification. Wontumi told me in his house when I went for a business meeting that Akufo-Addo does not want me to contest the 2020 elections as a presidential candidate. He is a changed man. He is not the same person we campaigned for some years ago.

So Kwame, the news of my disqualification didn’t hurt me because I was prepared for it.

My intention was not to win the 2020 elections but to prepare the grounds for the future. Even Akufo-Addo started in 1974 “He stated on Pure FM.

The Electoral Commission (EC) recently disclosed that five (5) of the seventeen (17) nominees who submitted nomination forms to contest for the presidency have been disqualified.

EC Chairperson,Jean Mensah explained that the GHc100,000 filing fee will be refunded to the said candidates in line with the rules surrounding the process.
