The Running Mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman has said that the next NDC government will provide the necessary support for the media to carry out their duties effectively.

According to her, the media cannot be left out when it comes to socio-economic development of the country, without them information can’t go outside and inside hence there is the need to ensure that they’re well catered for.

This comment came to light when professor Agyemang visited the media foundation for west Africa (MFWA) to brief them on the recently-launched manifesto of the party for the December polls.

“We need the media. I don’t think it is for nothing that the media is seen as the Fourth Estate, it is not any other profession that is seen as the Fourth Estate,” she noted.

Professor Naana Agyemang then assured them that when NDC wins the election, they will sustain the relationship by working with all of them in implementing the plans of their policies.
