Artiste manager, BullGod has boldly stated that no gospel musician will be crowned the ‘Artiste Of The Year’ at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
According to him, he will push for a secular artist to win the Artiste of the Year award over gospel artist Piesie Esther.
BullGod’s controversial statement has been met with backlash from many within the gospel music community, who see it as an attack on their genre and faith.
“I wish she would come back but not this year, maybe at the 34th edition. This year, if you look at what our people in the world have done as in the Stonebwoy’s and Black Sherif have done, we will not allow any gospel artiste to win the Artiste of the Year . The church of the Pentecost, Presby can all join but they will not win against lucifer. Everyone else in the world is with the guy. This is lucifer against God and God understands that we will win” he said on New Day.
This is coming at a time when a lot of people have been accusing the gospel fraternity of desperately influencing the board of the academy to secure a win.
