We always caution our communicators to be civil — Nana B on Abronye’s arrest

National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has reacted after court granted Abronye’s bail.

Abronye appeared before the court earlier today after he was arrested by the police for alleging that former President John Mahama is planning with terrorist attack group AI Qaeda to stage a coup in Ghana.

The court adjourned his case to March 9, 2022 after he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

The outspoken regional chairman was detained by Accra Regional Police Command on Tuesday after he honored their invitation to assist investigation over his allegations against Mr. Mahama.

According to the police, Abronye’s claim that Mr. John Mahama is planning to stage a coup in Ghana are untrue.

He was charged for publication of false news and offensive conduct.

After court granted him GH¢100,000 bail, Henry Nana Boakye spoke with the media and according to him, all NPP communicators have been cautioned to be thoughtful in their utterances and be careful about statements that will incite the public.
