The originator of rap music (hip-life) in Ghana, the grandpapa Reggie Rockstone in a new video going viral has responded to Shatta Wale’s claims hip life has made no impact in Ghana

Shatta Wale in an interview today, April 7 on TV3 attacked rapper Sarkodie for releasing a diss song in these hard times the world is facing

He expressed his disappointments in Sarkodie, and finally blamed Rockstone for introducing rap music into the country, which hasn’t even had any impact in Ghana

Honestly, one can sense this jab didn’t go well with the grandpapa, who has since responded to Shatta’s claims

Beginning the video, Reggie opened up about his admiration for the self acclaimed dancehall king

He went on to say Shatta Wale got it wrong for saying hip-life has had no impact in Ghana

He stated it is through hip-life that the country has received many international award.He also divulged same hip-life gave the country international recognition musically

He said he wouldn’t even talk of the enployment opportunities the genre has offered Ghana’s youth

The likes of Kwesi Arthur, Medikal, Obrafuor, Buk Bak, M’anifest, Okyeame Kwame, Strongman, Yaa Pono and many others he can’t name make their livelihood from rap

He questioned Shatta to name any reggae dancehall act aside himself and Stonebwoy

He accepted though hi-life is the original Ghanaian thing, but he maintained hip-life has always been with hi-life

Finally, he reminded Shatta Wale that, the biggest Ghanaian musician in the country now is a rapper and that’s Sarkodie

He ended the video by saying “don’t forget to wash your hands and wash your brains too”
