The police in Niger State, Nigeria, have turned back a trailer carrying over fifty(50) people fleeing from lockdown Lagos to Kano State

The driver had reportedly explained that, they were traveling from Lagos State to Kano State and promised not to stop at their state as they are only passing through

The security at the check-point called the Secretary to the State Government, who is also the chairman of the State Task force on COVID-19, Ibrahim Ahmed Matane, to seek permission to allow them to pass through

On arrival at the point where the truck was stopped, Matane ordered the security officers to escort the trailer through the route it used in coming to the state

Matane insisted that, there is no waiver for trucks not carrying food and other essential services to enter into the state
