Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton has disclosed that the only Ghanaian unaccounted for after the devastating earthquake is footballer Christian Atsu.
According to her, many Ghanaians do not live in the area affected by the earthquake.
Earlier on Monday, it emerged that Atsu had been trapped in the rubble after a devastating earthquake hit Turkey.
Atsu, who is on the books of Turkish side Hatayspor, had been trapped under the rubble together with the club’s sporting director Taner Savut.
Meanwhile, Hatayspor club’s vice president, Mustafa Ozat, had earlier confirmed Atsu’s rescue and stated that he had sustained injuries. However, the whereabouts of the Ghanaian winger is still unknown.
