Josephine Payin Mensah has finally been granted bail by Takoradi Circuit Court in the sum of Gh¢50,000 after she pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
The woman who planned her fake pregnancy and kidnapping appeared before the court today after she had confessed to the police during investigation that she was not pregnant nor being kidnapped.
Madam Josephine is facing two charges of deceiving a public officer and publication of false news with the intent of causing fear and panic but she pleaded not guilty in her first appearance in court.

The controversy surrounding Josephine made headlines for the past few weeks after she was reported missing by her husband on Friday, September 17.
The alleged pregnant woman left home Thursday dawn for a walk but never returned.
Madam Mensah was found in Axim on Tuesday, September 21 after five days of search but was not pregnant.
Less than 24 hours after her reappearance, the Western Regional Minister, Hon Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah revealed that the woman was not pregnant.
The police also issued a statement confirming that the woman was never pregnant. The release also had it that the alleged pregnant woman may have conspired with persons over her possible planned disappearance.
