Ghanaian actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson has sent a strong caution to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to desist from using her name for their sweet headlines to solicit votes for the upcoming general elections.
The movie producer recently tweeted that the power outages that affected the economy some years back were solved by the National Democratic Congress led by John Dramani before they were kicked out of power but not the New Patriotic Party as they claim.
Yvonne Nelson with the help of some other celebrities organized a demonstration on the streets of Accra to show their frustrations with the frequent taking off of lights which affected a lot of businesses in the country.
After her campaign, she and the other celebrities who were involved in the demonstration were tagged as members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) fraternity.
A fan on Twitter submitted that Yvonne Nelson is part of the reason why Ghanaians are suffering since she fought for President Nana Addo to become President.
In responding to the said tweet made by @Antaru4real, Yvonne Nelson took her time to explain to the said Ghanaian that she organized the dumsor demonstration because she wanted Ghanaians to have their lights back on which President John Mahama and his administration did fix.
After her response to the fan, the NDC has since been using her name to campaign for votes in the upcoming general elections. Yvonne has come out to caution the NDC to stop using her name for their political gains because she hadn’t campaigned for any political party since she was born.
She then advises the NDC to stop misquoting her because her tweet about solving dumsor was exactly what happened when she held the vigil. DUMSOR ENDED two weeks after the vigil. She added.
In a tweet ahe wrote;
NDC, listen, stop using me for your sweet headlines. I haven’t campaigned for ANY political party since I was born. My tweet about solving dumsor is exactly what happened when I held my vigil. DUMSOR ENDED two weeks after the vigil. STOP Misquoting me.
