Staff who alleged misuse of COVID-19 funds by management sacked by KATH [FULL DETAILS]

The authorities of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have sacked a staff who alleged that management misused the hospital’s covid-19 funds.

According to a letter sighted by Adepanews.com, the accountant named Mr. Awuni Akyireba has been relieved of his duties for false allegations against the management of the hospital.

The management described contents of his submission as false and his explanation of same to the media as a breach of its rules.

The letter also asked the director of finance to delete his name from the hospital’s staff payroll effective December 20, 2021.

Mr. Akyireba accused the Hospital’s management of misusing the COVID-19 funds that were accrued by the management of the health facility during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

He petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the hospital, Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso, over allegations of misappropriation of COVID-19 funds.
