The mortal remains of formal Black Stars player, Christian Atsu have finally arrived in Ghana.
The body of the late Black Stars player was received at the Kotoka International Airport by the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, family, Ghana Football Association (GFA), and other government officials.
Atsu’s remains arrived in the country for burial around 7:30 pm today Sunday, February 19, 2023, after it was recovered on Saturday morning under the rubble of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria.
Atsu passed away after being trapped under rubble for more than 11 days.
The Hatayspor star was found dead by the rescue team on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
Over 41,000 lives have been lost with many injured. A few survivors have been rescued though hopes recede close to a fortnight after the disaster.
