It has been revealed that South African rapper, AKA was shot to death as a payback for the demise of his fiancee Anele Tembe.
It would be recalled that AKA’s fiancee met her untimely death in April 2021 after falling from her hotel room in a Cape Town hotel.
AKA was banned from coming to Durban, Florida where Anele and her family hail from.
AKA had been warned about a dragon on the outskirts of town, but he was unconvinced. When he was with friends, he even shared his current location.
He wanted to make a strong statement about the fact that he was not afraid of the threats on his life and thus decided to go ahead and celebrate his 35th birthday on enemies’ territory.
Anele’s rich father and family have not gotten over the death of their daughter Anele in 2021, and it is heavily alleged in South Africa that AKA was killed out of bitterness for not claiming responsibility for her fiancée’s passing.
How AKA died
The 35-year-old rapper was shot and killed after spending time with friends at a Florida club.
AKA was shot while standing on the pavement when gunfire broke out soon after 22:00, according to a first responder at the scene who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Robert Netshiunda, a spokesman for the KwaZulu-Natal police, confirmed to News24 that a “well-known rapper” was shot and killed on Friday night shortly after 22:00 in Florida Road, Durban.
“That two men were killed, one of them a well-known rapper is something I can confirm.” “The victims’ names won’t be made public by the police until a thorough investigation has been conducted,” said Netshiunda.
