Residents force thief to clean gutter with bare hands [WATCH]

A video circulating online sees a thief being forced to clean a gutter full of dirt with his bare hands after he was caught stealing.

The residents refused to take him to the police station or lynch him to death.

It seems Ghanaians have adopted new way of sanctioning thieves who are caught in the act. The video below captures the suspected thief being forced to distill gutters as his punishment.

Like the popular saying goes; 99 days for the thief, one day for the owner and in this unfortunate thief’s case, the owner’s day is one he will definitely not forget in a hurry as many hope it will be life-changing for him.

In other news, Christian groups in Ghana have called on the leadership of National Democratic Congress(NDC) to soften their stance on the controversial Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) so government can pass it.

Leaders of some Christian groups paid a visit to former President John Dramani Mahama and leadership of NDC on Monday, February 14, 2022 to convince them to accept the 1.75% electronic levy the ruling government has intended to implement so that peace prevails in the country.

Leaders of the Christian groups who visited the leadership of NDC include, presiding bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev, Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, the Chairman of the Pentecost church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye.

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has asked the ruling government to completely drop the 1.75% e-levy with the claim it will impose hardship on Ghanaians.
