Rawlings wants Mahama to loose 2020 election- NDP Gen. Secretary unveils

The National Democratic Party (NDP) through it’s General Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong has just landed a devastating blow to National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Mohammed Frimpong noted that the late former President Jerry John Rawlings who was deeply affiliated to the NDP, wanted to see the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lose the 2020 general elections.

Rawlings failed to vote for the NDC in the 2016 general election and it was the wish of Rawlings to see the NDC lose 2020 general,” he said

He also indicated that Rawlings admitted that Mahama and his compatriot in the NDC have migrated from the doctrines of integrity and accountability he founded the party on.

Addressing the media on Monday, November 23, 2020, he unveiled that the founder of the NDC foresaw that the intention of Mahama for running as a presidential candidate was not to win the presidential seat in 2020 but in 2024.

“According to J.J, Mahama’s intentions are not to win the 2020 election but to hijack the NDC with his money so that he leads the party in 2024,” he said.

The party also accused the NDC of strategically manipulating the death of the husband of NDP flagbearer, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings to resurrect the NDC’s “dead campaign”.

“With what he did with the demise of former President Mills, he should not be allowed to do the same with the death of our beloved, former president Rawlings. And Ghanaians should not oblige to that. The hypocrisy of the NDC when Jerry John Rawlings was alive, [was such that] John Mahama desperately wanted to silence him and now that Rawlings is no more, Mahama finds it expedient to utilize his death to galvanize support for his weak base within the NDC rank and file and the country at large to salvage his 2020 campaign which is going nowhere.”
