The family of late former President Jerry John Rawlings on Thursday 18, 2021 visited President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House to express their gratitude for giving their relative a befitting burial.

On the official Facebook page of President Akufo-Addo, he stated that the family is thanking government for giving late Rawlings a befitting state burial.

He wrote;

“On Thursday, 18th February 2021, the family of the late Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House, the seat of the nation’s presidency, to thank Government for the befitting burial accorded the 1st President of the 4th Republic on 27th January 2021.”

At the Jubilee House, the wife of former President Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, Yaa Asantewaa Agyeman Rawlings, Madam Sefa Deenzer Agyeman and the former aide to the late statesman, Kobina Ando were present.

Rawlings d!ed on 12 November 2020 at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, a week after having been admitted for a “short term illness” in Ghana.

The remains of the former President were laid to rest at the Burma Camp military cemetery in Accra on January 27, 2021.
