Prophet mercilessly beat up church member over GH¢200

Police in Dodowa have arrested Prophet Sampson Obotang Bekoe, leader of the Family African Faith Church Tarbanacle in Gomoa Sokwa, on charges of assaulting a woman.

According to a report by Seth Mantey of Despite Media, the incident occurred after the prophet’s wife reported a missing amount of GH¢200, for which she sought the help of another person to recover. After consulting with Prophet Obotang, his wife accused him of being the thief, based on the revelation of a spiritualist she had consulted.

Enraged by his wife’s accusation, the prophet confronted the spiritualist at their residence, where he met the spiritualist’s sister, who also happened to be a member of his church. The two engaged in a heated argument over the accusation.

During the altercation, the sister of the spiritualist accused Prophet Obotang of stealing an organ during their church’s recent convention, which led to the alleged assault.

The matter was reported to the police, who apprehended the suspect and issued a medical form to the victim.

Prophet Obotang is currently in police custody pending further investigations.
