Preparations ongoing for Atsu’s one-week observation

The one-week observation of the late Christian Atsu will be held tomorrow, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Adjringanor Astro-Turf park in Accra.

The decision resulted from talks among Atsu’s family, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the Sports Ministry at the player’s family home.

The family is expected to disclose the funeral date during the one-week observation.

Christian Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday, February 18, 2023 after he was trapped under rubble following the earthquake that hit Turkey.

Currently, preparations are ongoing at Adjiringanor park for the late footballer’s one-week.

Atsu was a highly talented player who is fondly remembered by Ghanaians for his exceptional performances for the Black Stars.

He made 65 appearances for the national team, scoring nine goals. One of his goals earned him the Goal of the Tournament award at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, where he was also named the Most Valuable Player.
