Popular Ghanaian MP allegedly escapes Highway robbery attack

Popular Ghanaian MP allegedly escapes Highway robbery attack during a midnight journey.

The Member of Parliament for Lambussie constituency, Bright Baligi, escaped a robbery attack when he plied a section of the road between Wasipe and Banda Nkwanta.

The incident is said to have occurred at about 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Bole-Bamboi Highway in the Savannah Region.

The bodyguard of the MP fired warning shots which caused the suspects, a five-member gang, to disperse when they were robbing some travelers on the highway.

Although adepanews.com is yet to receive an official statement from the police, we were told that the MP and his entourage escaped unhurt and so far no arrests was made after making a report at the Banda Nkwanta Police Station.

Meanwhile, Teshie delivery guy was arrested with a loaded pistol, taser, 1,000 dollars in Accra.

Akpor Hedjole Ago- Ablo who claims to be a driver by profession was arrested by the special anti-robbery task force who stopped and conducted a search on him.

His arrest came after he bumped into the police at a section on the road and a random search conducted on him led to the retrieval of the items.

The 43-year-old Teshie ‘Anomaantu’ resident was carrying a pistol loaded with live ammunition, a short taser, a laptop, two phones, $1,000, and GHC40 in his backpack.
