Police place GH¢5K bounty on man who fired AK 47 to welcome 2022

The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for a man who fired some shots in public on the 31st night at A & C Mall to welcome the new year 2022.

The young anonymous man is being searched by the police for unlawfully discharging a firearm.

In the viral video, the man could be firing an AK 47 rifle into the air as he welcome 2022.

According to a statement by the police, it’s an offense to discharge a firearm in public “without lawful and necessary occasion under Section 209 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).

The Police Administration after reviewing the video of the young man seen firing several shots of a firearm suspected to be AK 47 at ANC Mall, East Legon, last night, December 31, 2021, has placed an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 5,000.00) as a bounty for anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest to face prosecution.
