Police arrest 9 armed robbers at Enchi mining firm in the Western North Region.

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad attached to the Enchi District Police Command through an intelligence-led operation has arrested nine suspected armed robbers, following their attack on a mining firm at Enchi in the Western North Region.

The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for three persons who are part of a 12 member group that attacked a mining firm at Enchi in the Western North Region.

According to police reports, suspects Sem Anthony and Kweku Larry, along with a Chinese national, reported to the Enchi Police Station on Monday, December 20, 2021, that they had been robbed of their Black Pump action gun, an Infinix Spark 5 mobile phone, another mobile phone, and an unspecified amount of money at the mining site by a group of armed men.

A search of them yielded a sum of GH 4,500.00, which they confessed was part of their proceeds from the heist.

Also, Dancehall musician Beenie Man was allegedly arrested by Ghana Police over COVID-19 restrictions in the country.

Anthony Moses Davis, also known as Beenie Man, a prominent Jamaican dancehall performer, was detained by Ghanaian officials a few days ago for allegedly escaping COVID-19 quarantine.

Last week, the music superstar visited Accra to assist Stonebwoy at his Bhim Nation performance but was quarantined after testing positive for COVID-19 upon his arrival in Ghana on December 19, 2021.

He was seen traveling about for interviews ahead of Stonebwoy’s Bhim Concert, which was hosted at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on December 21, 2021.

He was arrested for providing a fake COVID-19 vaccination card.
