PHOTOS: Akufo Addo outdoors Mini Cars To Replace ‘Okada’ and ‘Pragya’ through the Coastal Development Authority has designed the CODA Drive initiative.
On October 13th, 2020, Sammi Awuku said, the government had promised to offer the opportunity to okada riders to acquire cars and pay by installments as an alternative to the okada work when he was addressing the Okada business.
The government of the NPP, led by President Akufo Addo has finally delivered on their promise.
The mini-cars which were showcased last Saturday, November 28, 2020 would eradicate poverty and reduce risk bone by the Okada riders and Pragya drivers.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Jerry Ahmed Shaib explained that under the CODA Drive intervention, CODA will offer Bajaj Qute four-passenger quadricycles to drivers and okada riders on hire-purchase for use as public transport.
Although Bajaj Qute is a four-wheeler, however on paper, it does not qualify to be a car, it is built to carry people at maximum capacity.
The ‘automobile’ was built by the Indian company Bajaj Auto.
This comes as a relief to the Ghanaian populace.
