Owusu Bempah apologizes to Ibrahim Mahama after his bank account was emptied by Ibrahim.
That was some weeks after a High Court had ordered the National Investment Bank (NIB) to release any funds in the sum of GHC 310,000.00 in an account held by Ernest Owusu Bempah, Communications Director of Ghana Gas Company Limited, with the bank and pay the said amount to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.
In a new twist to events, a two-page apology letter intercepted by adepanews.com, confirms that Owusu Bempah begged Ibrahim Mahama to forgive him stating “I had no reason to make the allegations which I ought not to have made”.
Mr. Owusu Bempah added that the statement he made against the award-winning CEO of Engineers & Planner “were untrue then, are untrue now and will never be true” for which he apologizes.
An excerpt read “Irrespective of how it happened, the fact remains that I should never have made such a statement of Mr Ibrahim Mahama. The statement was clearly derogatory and defamatory of the person and the enviable achievements of Mr Ibrahim Mahama. I sincerely regret making the statement about him.”
Recall that Business Mogul, Ibrahim Mahama sued Ernest Owusu Bempah, Communications Director of Ghana Gas Company Limited and Despite Group of Companies GH¢2 million each for defamatory comments but judge awarded GH¢300,000 instead and directed the defendants to publish a retraction and apology in the Daily Graphic and on the same platform those defamatory words were used against the plaintiff.
They have also been directed to remove the said defamatory material about the plaintiffs from all archives.
