Ohemaa Jacky’s mother weeps over daughter’s arrest and detention by the Ghana Police Service.
Gospel singer Ohemaa Jacky has been arrested and arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for fraud after her arrival at the Kotoka International Airport.
This was after Jacky promised Barbara Adu Boahen that he would get her a visa to the United Kingdom.
This occurred just days after Ohemaa Jacky advertised on her Facebook page months ago that she can assist people with visas to travel to the United Kingdom and the United States.
Barbara expressed interest in the deal after seeing the advertisement, and she was eventually forced to part with €24,000. The gospel musician gave her two bank accounts into which she willingly deposited the money.
The mother of the gospel musician was heard pleading with the complainant to drop all charges against her daughter in an audio obtained by adepanews.com.
Ohemaa Jacky’s mother, while in tears, pleaded with the complainant for an out-of-court settlement after her daughter was granted bail, promising to refund all money paid to her.
She was charged with two counts of defrauding by false pretenses and forgery of official documents.
