Brand influencer, Ayisha Modi has reacted to reports that veteran Ghanaian rapper, Obrafour has taken legal action against Canadian singer Drake for sampling his song without permission.
Earlier today, reports went viral that Obrafour has sued Drake for copyright infringement.
The lawsuit arises from Drake’s use of a sample from Obrafour’s song “Oye Ohene (Remix)” in his track “Calling My Name.” Despite being denied permission by Obrafour and his team, Drake still used the sample, causing damage to Obrafour’s reputation and potential financial loss in royalties.
Obrafour’s lawyers are seeking “at least $10 million in damages” in the Southern District of New York, asking the court to enter into judgment that Drake “willfully infringed Obrafour’s Copyrighted Work in violation of the Copyright Act” and other reliefs.
Reacting to the lawsuit, Ayisha Modi said the legendary rapper should refund the money she invested in his album 13 years ago before suing people.
In an Instagram post, Ayisha said she has cursed Obofour and until he pays back all the money she invested in his album or tells the world the truth, he will keep suing people to feed himself.
