Outspoken Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has expressed displeasure over the government’s call on Ghanaians to contribute GH¢100 a month to support the construction of the National Cathedral.

Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, while presenting the 2021 Mid-Year review Budget Statement and Economic Policy on Thursday urged all, including Members of Parliament, to be part of the one million Ghanaians projected to support the initiative dubbed, “Ketewa biara nsua” with GH₵100 a month.

He noted Ghanaians could support the noble cause by dialing the short code *979#.

But according to Lydia Forson, the decision of government pleading with Ghanaians to contribute to build a cathedral is worrying when it is yet to do so for hospitals in poor state, roads k!lling people and children studying under trees.
