The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) Parliamentary Candidate for Agona West Constituency, Paul Ofori Amoah has admitted issuing cheques to men suspect to have hired to murder New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Agona West, Hon Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
The Swedru Divisional Police command apprehended four armed men allegedly hired to kill Gender Minister, Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
The Regional Police Command said the suspect mentioned the name of the National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Agona West, Paul Ofori Amoah, as the one who hired them.
Paul Ofori Amoah was subsequently picked up and detained on Saturday evening by the police for questioning.
This report was denied by the Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC who claimed he was going to take legal actions against people who put the story out.
But the Police have confirmed the story and have said that the Parliamentary Candidate has admitted to issuing the cheques to the suspects and has since been charged with preparations to commit crime to wit murder and abetment to commit crime to wit murder.
The four suspects who have been arraigned have also been charged with Preparations to commit crime, to wit murder and carrying offensive weapons and have since been remanded and are expected to reappear before the court on October 30,2020.
