On 29th November, Adepanews reported that the Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe Abronye earlier that morning was involved in an accident on Berekum-Drobo road after a rally.
Abronye and his entourage all survived the accident but the car was damaged.
During an interview on Agoo TV on Monday, member of the largest opposition NDC party’s National Communications Team, Alhaji Halidu Haruna confessed to having ruined cuses on Abronye.
He added apologized for the act and accepted the blame.
Alhaji Halidu invoked the curses after Abronye accused Alhaji Halidu Haruna of having stated that women who are over 40 years and not married are prostitutes.
According to Alhaji Halidu, its falsehood made him ruin the curses on him.
“You’ll crash with your car because of the falsehood you peddled against me.
He continued: “…It is very painful for someone to peddle falsehood against you. If you are doing politics, you don’t peddle falsehood around.”Alhaji Halidu said.
Apologizing to Abronye he said
“Abronye is my friend but on that day I was so much hurt. He was asked several times to retract but he was adamant. Out of pain, I told him that if he doesn’t retract, I give him up to his car. I’m not happy that he had an accident. I thank God that he’s not hurt and that he came out unscathed. It’s painful to have lies told about you, I sometimes cry over some of these lies when I go to bed. You don’t know who to talk to, you don’t know how to extricate yourself from those lies. Serious lies that can even kill someone.”
