The Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has revealed on Joy FM that President Akufo-Addo had ordered for the closure of the LGBTQ office recently opened in Accra.
Speaking on a Christian program on Joy FM, Foh Amoaning stated that Nana Addo already rejects homosexuality in Ghana and that his position was made clear through the minister-designate for Children and social protection, Adwoa Sarfo.
“President Akufo-Addo has directed the closure of LGBTQIA offices in Accra, plain and simple,” Foh Amoaning stated.
A survey by the Africa Centre for International Law and Accountability (ACILA) has revealed that over 80 percent of Ghanaians are against the normalization of homosexuality in the country.
The survey also noted aside from corruption, homosexuality is the next item Ghanaians abhor.
Lawyer Moses Foh-Amoaning, also revealed that Ghana does not breach any international law if it disallows the LGBT+ movement in Ghana.
According to him, he was surprised that the representative from the European Commission to Ghana was ignorant about laws governing LGBT+ movements in the country.
Sighting an investigation done by the European Court of Human Right, the legal practitioner stated that LGBT+ is not a human right and Ghana has the sovereign right to still hold LGBT+ as a criminal offence.
