Outspoken politician Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has publicly announced that his one million dollars he pledged to support President Akufo-Addo to procure covid-19 vaccines is finally ready.
The Assin Central lawmaker recently kicked against government’s decision to receive free covid-19 vaccines from World Health Organization(WHO)and promised to offer $1 million to aid in buying the vaccines.
To him, the free supply of vaccines from well-developed countries to us means we’re still under their control. He called on well-to-do Ghanaians to help the government in procuring the vaccines to save lives.
In a new video sighted by our outfit, the businessman disclosed that his $1 million is ready and sitting at ADB waiting to be given out to procure the vaccine. According to Kennedy Agyapong, we should not always ask what the country can do for us but rather what we can do for the country.
Ghana is said to be the first country to receive vaccines through the COVAX initiative with a delivery of 600,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab.
The shipment is part of a first wave of free deliveries headed to dozens of low- and middle-income countries under COVAX, a UN-backed scheme that aims to ensure fair access to COVID-19 vaccines.
