MTN ZoneBundle to return soon – National Communication Authority

The National Communications Authority (NCA) CEO Joe Anokye has announced that the MTN Zone bundle will soon return to the market following a regulatory requirement by the authority.

Telecom operator MTN had suspended the Data Zone bundle offer in Ghana on April 5, 2023, to review the bundle offer in line with the Significant Market Power (SMP) directives applied to the company in June 2020. The SMP directives aim to ensure that MTN Ghana’s offers are not the lowest-priced in the industry.

MTN has submitted a revised data zone bundle that meets the regulatory requirement, according to Mr. Anokye. “MTN has since submitted a revised data zone bundle which has been approved by the authority. It is our expectation that the product will soon be available,” said Anokye during a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

The Data Zone bundle, an innovation by MTN Ghana, offers customers a 1-day validity bundle at discounted rates at the point of purchase. The subscription is through the Short Code 135. MTN Ghana reassures its customers that it will continue to roll out innovative and affordable products and services for their benefit.

Further developments on the reinstatement of the Data Zone bundle offer will be notified to the public in due course, according to a statement issued by MTN.
