Momo agents nationwide to go on a strike coming Thursday but Ghanaians would not be really hurt if their presence are unavailable on that day alone.

The Ghanaian Mobile Money Agents’ Association has announced that on December 23, 2021, they would go on a statewide strike in protest of the contentious E-Levy.

The union called the planned 1.75 E-levy as harmful to companies in a statement released on Monday.

A portion of their statement reads;

“Consequently, as part of our demonstration on Thursday, December 23, 2021, our services as Mobile Money Agents will not be accessible across the country. All Agents will go on strike, hence all outlets will remain closed. If all efforts remain futile, an Indefinite action would be taken thereafter. For your use and records.”
