Military men, armed policemen to storm the streets of Kumasi tomorrow to fish out the criminals and hoodlums causing havoc in the country.

In March , the Ghanaian government deployed more than 37,000 police officers, and soldiers around the country help enforce the lockdown measures courtesy COVID-19.

The new announcement was made by the Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah during an interview with Kumasi-based Pure FM.

He assured the people that no harm would be caused to the lives of innocent people.

“The region in collaboration with the ministry of energy is going to light crime-prone areas of the region”,

“But what I will say is, we are not going to allow anyone who has planned to fool around the up-coming election to bring insecurity. There is no way we are going to give them a chance. The police and the military will deal with such people amicably”. Mr. Osei said.

This comes after four suspects connected to the murder of Mfantsiman MP were arrested in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region while the other three suspects were picked up in different locations in the Central Region where the crime was committed.

The first suspect was tracked through the MP’s mobile phone to a hotel in Kumasi before the swoop on the rest was carried out.
