Ghanaian legendary footballer, Michael Essien has announced his full support to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender, and Queer Intersex (LGBTQI) community in Ghana.

Communicating his opinions in an Instagram post, the former Chelsea midfielder argued that since Ghana supports equality in all matters the same approach must be employed in the acceptances of LGBTQI.

β€œWe see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana #ghanasupportequality πŸ‡¬πŸ‡­πŸ€πŸΏβ€œ, he wrote.

However, the president of Ghana dismissed any doubt that LGBT marriages would be acknowledged when he said β€œI have said it before, and let me stress it again, that it will not be under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo that same-sex marriage will be legal,” he said.

Nana Addo finally iron short the matter once and for all when he attended the installation of the 2nd Archbishop of the Anglican Church held in Asante Mampong.
