Media General hiring McBrown who can’t speak nor write flawless English is a big mistake –Bongo Ideas

Social media critic, Albert Nat Hyde widely known as Bongo Ideas has fired some shots at Media General for hiring Nana Ama McBrown as one of their presenters.

McBrown was unveiled today at the premises of Media General as a new presenter.

The former host of United Showbiz program on UTV joined the Onua TV family after resigning from Despite Media Group.

The news about her new station broke on social media in the early hours of Monday, March 13, 2023 after Onua TV took to social media to share a flyer welcoming her.

According to the post shared by Media General, the screen goddess will be joining the Onua brand under the Media General group.

A lot of Ghanaians especially social media users congratulated her for joining the Media General Group. However, Bongo Ideas who is well known for sharing his raw opinions on trending issues in Ghana has kicked against Nana Ama’s appointment as an employee of Media General.

In a series of Twitter posts, Bongo highlighted a few reasons why the Ghanaian actress cum TV presenter does not worth working for a highly-rated brand like TV3.

According to him, McBrown lacks proper communication skills when hosting a program and cannot also ask right questions adding that the Screen Goddess can not speak nor write flawless and impeccable English.

“I’m not tryna hate but what does Nana Ama offer an English-speaking station like TV3?

“She lacks proper communication skills on set, lacks the ability to ask the right questions, can’t simplify complicated issues, and can’t speak nor write flawless, impeccable English,” he wrote.

Bongo furthered that McBrown’s journalistic and presentation skills are poor for her to work with such a major media brand.

“Aside from her acting success, her journalistic and presentation skills are not sharp enough for her to join such a major media house. It probably stops at running ‘donkomi’ adverts on TV to target the Twi-speaking non-elites.”

“TV3 might be making the biggest mistake by hiring all these “top stars,” which will lead to stiff competition, rifts, and underperformance—the EIB Network’s (GhOne TV) Nemesis”
