Mahama seems confuse for claiming he started free SHS policy – Bawumia

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is shocked after former President and flag bearer of opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Dramani Mahama claimed that he initiated the free SHS policy.

There has been news recently surrounding which party implemented the Free Senior High School policy. According to the opposition National Democratic Congress led by John Dramani Mahama, they started the policy while the governing NPP claims they are the ones who initiated the policy but not NDC as they argue.

According to Dr. Bawumia, the NDC should not confuse themselves thinking that Ghanaians have short memories. The people of Ghana have not forgotten that NDC predicted doom for Free SHS policy before the 2016 elections.

The NDC presidential aspirant during one of his campaign tours in the Upper East noted that the NDC administration commenced the Free SHS initiative and NPP came and took over.

Mr. Mahama added that the implementation has been poor and it has resulted in the double track. He asked Ghanaians to vote for him and promise to cancel the double-track system in a year.

But the Vice President in an address on Thursday, November 26, 2020, indicated that John Dramani Mahama and the NDC did everything within their means to ensure that the policy does not see the light of day but that could not materialize because they policy was a life-changing one and the results of the first batch is an indication that quality was also not compromised.

“They even went to the Supreme Court to stop free SHS. They ran over 40 adverts against free SHS. Today the NDC and their flagbearer are looking at us and saying that they started free SHS.
