He won by over 12,000 votes with his closest contender, NPP’s Philip Ofori Asante, polling 10,798 votes.

Provisional results obtained by Media General‘s Portia Gabor put the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate ahead with a total of 39,851 votes while National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate John Dumelo had 37,778 votes.

According to unconfirmed reports from Adom TV, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu Senya East Constituency still remained in opposition in Kasoa as NPP’s Hawa Koomson retained the seat for the third time.

That brings the number of NPP parliamentary seats to 3 while the NDC holds 2 in the central region.
