List of Ghanaians celebs lost Twitter verification badge over $8

According to a recent policy update by Twitter, the platform now requires a monthly subscription fee of $8 for account verification. As a result of this new policy, a majority of Ghanaian celebrities have lost their verified status on the platform, with the verification symbol that previously appeared next to their profile names now removed.

This is due to the fact that most of these celebrities have not opted into the new policy. Notable personalities such as Sarkodie, Bridget Otoo, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Samini, Efya, D-Black, Serwaa Amihere, and Black Sherif have all had their blue badges taken away.

It is noteworthy that media personality Nana Aba Anamoah still retains her blue badge on her account, with a message indicating that her account has been verified because she has subscribed to Twitter Blue and verified her phone number.

However, several high-profile individuals, including professors, journalists, and celebrities, have seen their blue checks disappear from their accounts due to non-compliance with the new policy.

This includes co-founder Jack Dorsey, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Bill Gates, Pope Francis, and former president Donald Trump. On Thursday, even Elon Musk’s Twitter account began to remove blue verification checkmarks from users who had not registered for the service.
