Kotoka International Airport (K.I.A) has reported 16 new cases after some travelers tested positive in the mandatory COVID-19 testing.
Of the 6,976 tests conducted, 16 were flagged for carrying the virus into the country. Out of the batch, 4 have been hospitalized and the 14 are currently receiving treatment in their respective homes.
The update was made known by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, during a press conference today Wednesday, 16 September 2020.
He added that Ghana’s active case count has reduced drastically to 564 though 54 new cases were recorded.
Mr Oppong-Nkrumah urged the public to continue adhering to the laid down safety protocols.
