Kennedy Agyapong will not be happy after seeing what the court said about Obinim’s case because of some actions by the police.
Having launched a self-imposed crusade against ‘fake’ and shady pastors in 2020, Kennedy Agyapong has made life a living hell for church leaders such as Bishop Obinim, Prophet Badu Kobi and Nigel Gaisie.
His inspiration? The outspoken and controversial legislator intimated that he has a quest of exposing cheats and corrupt individuals in society.
His modus operandi, he says, is to thoroughly investigate his subject before coming public since reputations take a lifetime to build.
Bishop Daniel Obinim, also known as Angel Obinim, is a pastor of the International God’s Way Church.
The popular televangelist was arrested on May 19 and charged in court for the publication of false news and forgery of documents, contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The founder and leader of International Godsway Church was in custody after allegedly failing to meet a ₵100,000 plus three sureties bail condition but after sometime paid and was released.
Obinim was released from police grips after meeting his bail requirements Friday, May 22, 2020.
Recently, the prosecution led by Detective Sergeant Richard Amoah told the court presided over by Magistrate Rosemond Agyiri that the police were unable to proceed due to some challenges that befell their investigations.
This made the Kaneshie District Court threaten to discharge the Head Pastor of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim if the police fail to commence the prosecution at the next court date.
