Kejetia Market floods after heavy rainfall last night.
The ultra-modern Kejetia market in Kumasi got flooded after a heavy downpour on Thursday as well as many areas in the Ashanti Region.
Commuters were stranded as access routes from town to various destinations were unmotorable.
This comes after two hours of rain which affected parts of the city.
The Ashanti Regional capital has experienced two successive nights of heavy rains.
Yesterday, officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) were present in the market to assess the extent of the damage.
No casualty was recorded at the facility.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet), has cautioned persons living in and around flood-prone areas to seek asylum elsewhere because the country will be experiencing heavy rains in the coming days.
According to the agency, areas to be heavily affected include coastal parts of the Central, Greater Accra, Western and the Ashanti regions.
