The National Petroleum Authority(NPA) has released a statement informing the general public that the 17 pesewas per litre increase in fuel as announced earlier has been reduced to 9 pesewas.

This comes after the Hon Minister for Energy, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Association of Oil Marketing Companies(AOMCs) met at a meeting earlier today.

Skyrocketing fuel prices triggered a huge uproar on social media amidst other challenges leading to the #Fixthecountry, which topped trends for days on Twitter.

Fuel prices in the country have consistently seen a steady increase since the beginning of the year, sparking fears that consumers may end the year paying an all-time high rate per litre.
