Ghanaian sensational football player, Jordan Ayew has tested positive for the deadly covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

The 29-year-old tested positive on his return from international duty where he featured for the Black Stars against Mali and Qatar in Antalya, Turkey.

He was forced to miss Sunday’s English Premier League clash against Brighton Hove & Albion and has revealed that he has already started his mandatory isolation to overcome the disease and stop its spread.

The EPL Crystal Palace striker confirmed the unfortunate turn of events in a Twitter when he stated:

“Sadly, I have tested positive for Covid-19 & have begun my quarantine in line with the health guidance,” Ayew said in a statement on Sunday after Palace’s match.

”Thankfully, I am feeling fine & do not have any symptoms.

”I will be cheering the boys on from home & look forward to being back on the pitch soon. Stay safe.”

Ayew has become the sixth Ghana international to contract the virus.
