After Thomas and Jordan helped Ghana to secure a defeat in their recent friendlies to Mali, they battled their way out at an award ceremony held over the weekend.
Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has been adjudged 2019 Footballer of the Year by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (Swag).
The striker beat off competition from the new Arsenal signing Thomas Partey and China-based midfielder Mubarak Wakaso in the event held at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel in Accra, Saturday evening.
He was also named Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year award and Players’ Player of the Year.

His award was presented to him by Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku at the Black Stars camp based in Antalya, Turkey ahead of Monday’s friendly against Qatar.
Thomas who recently left his team, Atletico Madrid to Arsenal wrote on his Instagram.
“Dear Atletico fans, today I only have words of gratitude with you,” he posted, “For several years now, Atlético de Madrid has been my home and a part of this family will always be with me.
“I want to thank the club for the trust placed in me from day one, but above all, I want to thank you.
“This wonderful hobby that I accepted from the first moment and that has shown that it is both in good and bad times and you never truly stop believing.
