General Secretary of opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has disclosed that he will not run for re-election.
According to Mr. Nketia, he has decided not to contest for the General Secretary position of the NDC party again due to health reasons.
“After giving it some thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t be re-entering the fray. For the record, Mr. Nketiah has said, “I will not run for re-election as General Secretary.”
Elections for new national executives within the NDC are scheduled to take place during a congress on December 17, 2022.
In a related development, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Director Elections of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has charged the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of utilizing financial influence to win the upcoming 2020 general elections.
His claims that the NPP outspent the NDC by a ratio of almost 1:1000 in the parliamentary elections to secure the majority of seats they now hold are very questionable.
He made his claims during an interview with Accra’s Joy FM, in which he claimed that the NPP distributed cash to certain voting blocs just before the election.
