“I don’t smoke” — Black Sherif clears air

Fast-rising Ghanaian singer, Black Sherif has rejected claims that he is a smoker.

A lot of people had the perception that the award-wining musician is a smoker because he uses the “smoke” word or marijuana in most of his songs.

The “Kwaku The Traveller” hit-maker speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Accra-based Hitz FM has refuted the claims.

“I don’t endorse marijuana. I don’t smoke marijuana. I don’t smoke. And I am not telling anyone to do it. When I talk about smoking, it’s actually about smoking the beat. We are burning the beat. Na ay shishiishi,” he said.

Black Sherif has been in the headlines for the past few weeks following the release of his new track dubbed “Kwaku The Traveller” which is topping music charts in Ghana and beyond.
