How Chadwick Boseman: Black Panther star died after battling colon cancer.

Boseman came to prominence playing real-life figures – baseball great Jackie Robinson in 2013’s 42, and soul singer James Brown in 2014’s Get on Up.

However, it will be as the titular Black Panther in the blockbuster 2018 film he will be best remembered.

Chadwick Boseman, who played Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, died on Friday of cancer.

“Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last four years as it progressed to stage IV.”

It said many of his recent roles had been filmed “during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy”.

The black panther star died age 43 and news of his death came as a shock to many as Boseman never discussed his diagnosis publicly.

Revealing how he died,Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side, his publicist Nicki Fioravante told The Associated Press news agency.
