Ghanaian media personality, Kofi Okyere-Darko, popularly known as KOD, in an interesting turn of events has fired back at veteran Highlife musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, in their ongoing feud.
Okyere-Darko responded to a commenter who advised him not to engage Ambolley, given the latter’s advanced age. “I’d still straighten up an ungrateful grandfather. I fed him before and promoted him for almost 30 years. If anything, he owes me money too,” KOD said emphatically.
The dispute began when Ambolley claimed that the Ghana Music Awards was hindering the growth of Highlife music. KOD responded on Facebook, defending the awards scheme and asking why Ambolley had not released an album recently.
Ambolley later appeared on Adom TV, where he called KOD “shallow-minded”. In response, KOD wrote on Facebook: “Ambolley wants violence (vawulence) in comparing records. Maybe I won’t mind him”.
